Devil's Lake Family and Group Camping

Campsites: There are three separate individual site campgrounds located at the north end of the park.  In addition there is an organized group tent campground on the south end of the park.  Some of these sites have electrical hook-ups.

Registration:  Campers using individual and group sites must register at the park office in advance.

Reservations:  Reservations are accepted for most sites for the period of May 1 through October.  Reservations can also be made for the outdoor group camp.  All reservations must be made on the standard reservation form.  Campsites may also be reserved by phone.  For further information and forms contact the park office at:  608-356-6618 or write: Devils's Lake State Park, S5975 Park Road, Baraboo, Wisconsin, 53913

Facilities:  Firewood is available for sale at the Ice Age Campground and at the Chateau.  Showers are located in the bath houses and campground toilet buildings on the North Shore.  No laundry facilities are available on site but there are laundromats in Baraboo.

Activities include:  Fishing:  Devil's Lake contains brown trout, walleye, northern, bass and panfish.  A Wisconsin fishing liscense is required for anyone over 16.  Boating:  Life preservers are required for all boats including rubber rafts.  There are launching ramps at both ends of the lake.  Electric motors only are allowed. Swimming:  Beaches and bath houses are located at both ends of the lake.  Lifeguards are not provided.  Scuba Diving:  Divers must follow safe established practices.  Diving flags are required. Picnicing:  There are three major picnic grounds in the park with water, tables and grills.  (Two at the north end and one at the south end of the park)  Biking:  Hikers have the right-of-way.  Bikes are only allowed on the Ice Age and the connector between the Steinke Basin and the North Shore Picnic Area.  A bike pass is required and can be obtained from the Visitor Center.  Rock Climbing:  The park is not maintained for rock climbing.  Loose rocks may be encountered.  Rock Climbing at Devil's Lake is at YOUR OWN RISK.  Please be careful!

Winter Activities:  There are 16 miles of cross country ski trails in the park.  A map is available at the park office.  The lake freezes over about four months each winter and ice fishing is popular.  The park staff does not monitor ice conditions.  Be cautious at all times.  Approximately 15 campsites are available for winter camping.

A WisconsinState Park sticker is required on all vehicles entering the park.  Stickers may be purchased on arrival at the park office.
