Summary: Those nasty old scientists, The Enclave, send a robot to steal electronic components. When the ‘bot is mistaken for Spider-Man, the Thunderbolts are called in to track down the wall-crawler. The T-Bolts and Spidey find themselves together at the Enclave’s lair, where they fall under the influence of the scientists’ infernal device, the mind-controlling bio-modem.

Continuity: This adventure occurs half way through "Too Many Masters," following the T-Bolts' first encounter with the Crimson Cowl’s Masters of Evil. Knowledge of Abner’s long history with Spider-Man makes the vendetta very convincing. The Enclave’s bio-modem will prove crucial to Zemo’s master plan. Dallas appears in her role as Mayoral liaison.

Comments: Busiek plots and scripts, so the dialogue is sharp and the story fits neatly into continuity. But the artistic layout is sloppy: Plot points have to be covered by excess dialogue and Citizen V’s sword keeps switching from hand to hand.
