Summary: When their dark secret is suddenly revealed, the T-Bolts find themselves once again hated and on the run from SHIELD, Daredevil, Hawkeye, Spider-Man, the New Warriors (Firestar, Justice, Nova, and Turbo -- but not Speedball) and most of the population of NYC.
Brief appearances from Captain America, The Fantastic Four (The Human Torch, The Invisible Woman, Mr. Fantastic, The Thing), and The Vision.
Continuity: Hawkeye crosses paths with the T-Bolts for the first time and shows early signs of having a soft spot for them. There is a gap of several weeks between this adventure and "Endgame" (1998/02/02) during which, presumably, Dallas Riordan is offered the mantle of Citizen V (as seen in the flashback sequence from "The Nefaria Protocols", 2000/09/01) and begins her training.
Comments: I just couldn't believe the cover. I just couldn't believe the Reveal when it happened. I was sure it would be undone -- like in dozens of Silver Age stories in which Superman's secret identity was "revealed." But, no, just ten issues into the series the entire concept is turned on its head -- and Thunderbolts is shown to be a series where dramatic change is the only status quo.
